Krista, Love and Josh- Sneak Peek | Kelowna Family photographer

We broke this session up into two parts- a styled outdoor shoot of Krista and Love, and a more intimate indoor shoot of them as a family. I'm warning you now, this is heavy on images. I couldn't resist.

This session was so inspiring and beautiful for many reasons. First Krista and I went to high school together. It has been years since we talked, and this session brought us back together. Krista could always make me laugh. She and I were in a drama performance class together and my memories of those 2 years always revolve around Krista and I giggling, and probably not paying attention. She had a sparkle that most teenage girls are afraid to let shine. Fast forward 11 years later, she still has that sparkle only it's gotten brighter. There is something beautiful about a new mom, a new strength and satisfaction that embodies her.
Sweet baby Love, was an absolute dream. She took everything in, like she was breathing in every bit of information the world could offer, and blossoming from the attention her momma and daddy were giving her.
But possibly the sweetest part of the session, was watching Josh, watch his family- a sense of peaceful contentment and deep love lit him up from the inside out.

I came home with the warm and fuzzies even though the cold weather could have chilled me to the bones. They got something special these ones.

Lauren & her Corvair sneak peek | Styled pin-up session

I photographed this beautiful woman and her gorgeous car on a night heavy with rain clouds. It could have been stressful, except that Lauren has this beautiful personality and calm, so instead the evening turned into an adventure. Cutting down roads we weren't sure lead anywhere and trying to out run the rain. When it eventually caught up with us, we just kept going. Lauren was glowing. Sparkling the entire time. Even though the weather had turned, and things weren't exactly as we'd envisioned, the shoot was a success. And it was because Lauren was able to let go, be herself and truly let down her guard.

I have to say a big big big thank you to Ashley Nitti from Mint Hair studio for Lauren's beautiful hair and makeup, and for bringing her sparkly personality along on the shoot. She stood in the rain and laughed, let me boss her around and was a super star. Thank you!!!

Loft/MacGillivray Sneak Peek | Kelowna Family Photographer

I met Maureen during Yoga teacher training a few years ago. For anyone who has been through an intensive teacher training, you know that the people you take the course with make it or break it. They see your sweat, your tears, your triumphs. They see you crumble and then miraculously come out a whole new person. Maureen made me laugh the loudest even through tears, and still does to this day.

She's the type of person who's there when you need them and no matter how busy or chaotic her day or week, she will eventually break out into a giggle and smile. And her kids are totally the same. I loved seeing the bits and pieces of my friend's personality and characteristics etched into her kids. Her imprint was there on her dazzling, amazing, hilarious three.

They are all in that time of late teens to early twenties, finding their way in the world, making their dreams happen, even though their mom sometimes anchors them back down with a little nudge, or word or question. They might call her the "dream crusher" but I think she's got their backs no matter what dreams they take on.
