Evelynn & Jezebel | Kelowna Photographer

Meet the lovely Evelynn and her ridiculously cute pup Jezebel.

Evelynn told me she wanted photos to mark the beginning of a new chapter in her life. This girl is on fire. She's just bought a new house, has been promoted to Co-chef de cuisine at a local restaurant and is ready to take on the world. Throughout all her big accomplishments her sweet dog Jez has been there cheering her on. I was so excited to shoot this session and capture those faces!

I mean how can two faces be so different? Evelynn's face is so striking and Jezebel's face cracks me up every time I look at it. Evelynn and I got the giggles a few times just watching Jez romping about at the dog park.

Here are a handful of my favourite shots.

Ashley & Ted Elope | International wedding photographer

These are our friends Ashley and Ted. Some time ago Ashley emailed me with the subject line reading: Exotic photos (not that kind!) She knew we were planning a trip to nicaragua. And she wanted to tell me her and Ted were going to. Oh and did she mention they were planning to get married down there? I, of course, immediately phoned her at work and was like: WHAT?!?!?! And then I may have clapped and jumped up and down.

Some time passed and suddenly we were there. In beautiful Nicaragua. We were surfing and hanging out on the beach, and building sand castles, oh and did I mention they got married? On a sailboat? At Sunset?

I could have chosen 30+ photos to feature here. But Ashley requested a small sneak peek so she could share the images with her friends and family, while they travel on through Nicaragua. She wanted to show the majority of the photos to her nearest and dearest when they returned.

Know that these two were the happiest I have ever seen them (and for Ashley this is saying a lot considering she is always glowing and smiling). There were the sweetest tears, and the kindest words, I feel incredibly blessed and humbled to have been able to capture this day. Love you guys!

Kershaw Family | Vernon Photographer

This session almost didn't happen in the Kershaw home, but the rain kept raining, the universe refusing to cooperate. So we decided plan B was necessary. We would shoot at their home.

There is something so intimate about shooting in a family's home. There are so many little stories etched into its surfaces, memories weaving together under one roof. I loved how their little guy was so focused on the moment, he had the sweetest little concentration face, totally mesmerized and content to play with his parents all day.

Adams Family | Kelowna Family Photographer

Some families just have this thing, don't you think? This secret etched in their bones that makes you stop and watch, as they play and laugh and run around. This is how I felt about the Adams family. They were rambunctious, bubbly, giggling and jumping around totally enchanted. Tracy booked this session to mark their move to Kelowna, and if their adventure is anything like this photo session, I think they're going to love it here.

Thurston Maternity Portraits | Kelowna Maternity Photographer

It isn't everyday you get to photograph your big sister's baby bump. It has been amazing to see her evolve over the last 7 months. Watching the waves of emotions, the palpable feeling of butterflies and that smitten look on Molly and Matt's faces as we talk about what's to come. And every once in a while I'm a little taken a back that we are here, at this place in our lives- her growing a baby and me raising one. Weren't we just babies ourselves?

I can't wait to meet bebe Thurston, until then we will wait in anticipation.

Love you all so much!

Russell/Rota Wedding | Kelowna Wedding Photographer

Oh how I love this couple. Colby and I used to work together and ever since I've known him he has talked about Lindsay. At first I was like "ok I get it you have an amazing girlfriend." And then I met her and I was like "yeah, I would talk about her all the time too." And the best thing is Lindsay and I now work together on Something Pretty and she talks about Colby just as much.

They are the type of couple that has an entire community behind them. It was so amazing to be part of a wedding where every detail was placed by the hand of someone near and dear to them. I wish you both  all the love in the world- as if you needed anymore. Love xo
